John joined us to talk about what to do with your prelims. We spoke about providing individual feedback to learners, but mostly focused on how to provide support for learners just before the coming final exams.
Now is not the time to reteach all the content. Any revision that's done should be done with the aid of past exam papers.
Yes, this is the first year of CAPS, but there are questions from past papers that fit the content. My favourite is to print out past papers, cut out the questions and collect all that cover the same content. Then, arrange the questions in order of difficulty and reprint the new arrangement to help with the last preparations.
Of course, there is the danger of giving them too much work. Don't overwhelm them. It's important that you inspire them to work hard but don't squash their confidence. Give them clear directions on what to do, how to do it and for how long.
